Complex Wound Closure: Primary vs Secondary Intention

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Several options are available for the closure of complex wounds. Options range from ultimate secondary closure to the use of skin flaps and grafts to negative pressure wound therapy for complex abdominal wounds and enterocutaneous fistula. The choice of closure technique depends on the patient, the type and location of the wound, and the local tissue characteristics. This session will provide insight into a systematic decision-making process relative to expeditious management and closure.
